Juve ‘throws out’ Bonucci

After 502 appearances, 35 goals and 17 titles, the story between Leonardo Bonucci and Juventus, which began in 2011, is ending in the worst way. La Vecchia Signora has decided that both the center-back and McKennie are already out of their plans and that they will not travel with the rest of their teammates for the tour in the United States. The new head of the sports area, Cristiano Giuntoli, acted with a strong hand and has already communicated it to both. The center-back only started nine times in the last championship, while the midfielder spent a season on loan at Leeds and is back on the market (Aston Villa would be among the interested clubs).

The directors Giuntoli and Manna traveled to Tuscany to communicate the decision in person to Bonucci, who had very different plans. The player wanted to continue dressing as a bianconero until the end of his contract, which expires in 2024, also to aim for the next Euro Cup with Italy. Just the big date, it seems, makes the goal of his agent, Alessandro Lucci, to look for a new team in Serie A, but more surprises abroad are not ruled out.

Meanwhile, the captain’s armband officially goes to Danilo, who already wore it for most of last year. Bonucci, for his part, will have to look for one last adventure at 36 years of age. His long Bianconero journey, interrupted during a course in 2017 with a controversial transfer to Milan, will not have the end he wanted.
