Jura: in conflict with her bank, a retiree is chained to a radiator

Dissatisfied with a bank placement offered in 1998, a retiree living in Salins-les-Bains (Jura) chained herself to a radiator at her bank to protest.

Denouncing a plan called “fructi famille version sickness and accident” contracted almost twenty-five years ago, a 65-year-old woman has used the hard way to complain. Since 1998, she had invested the equivalent of 320 euros per year in this investment to benefit her children, according to Progress.

Last week, she received a letter from the People’s Bank explaining that this contract would end in December. In order to have more explanations, the retiree went to her bank branch on Tuesday.

On the spot, she learned a piece of news that she experienced as a scam. In fact, this contract was a non-refundable payment at the age limit of 65 years. The downside is that she celebrated her 65th birthday in July 2021, causing her to lose all her rights and her total investment.

No longer having the contract signed at the time and not understanding this situation, experienced as a deep injustice, she therefore decided to chain herself to one of the establishment’s radiators.

Alerted by bank employees, the gendarmes dispatched to the scene were unable to force the sixty-something to leave the premises.

She finally agreed to leave after receiving a payment close to two-thirds of the total amount invested.
