The National Baseball Commissioner, Junior Noboa, was among the personalities recognized on Tuesday at The Best of DR award ceremony, an event organized every year by Mercado Magazine and which had the support of the National District Mayor’s Office, in an activity held in Portazul in the Colonial Zone.
The former player received the distinctions for his contributions, from the different positions he has held in his career in baseball, to the development of this pastime throughout the country.
In addition, as a great strategic ally that has been in the promotion and performance of sports activities generated by the City Council of the National District with Mayor Carolina Mejía at the head, in these two years of Luis Abinader’s government.
After receiving his recognition from Mejía herself and Patricia de Moya, president of Mercado Media Network, Noboa greatly thanked Mercado magazine and the mayor of Santo Domingo for this distinction he received, which he humbly accepts and is ready to continue. developing a laudable work in favor of Dominican sports, from the position he occupies in the offices of the National Baseball Commissioner.
“Thanks to all of you for pondering the work that we have developed in recent decades, which I will continue to carry out from any of the positions I occupy, since I have always been a baseball man, since my years when I started in the little leagues, with the teachings that my parents gave me and that I have kept ever since,” said Noboa.
He stated that from the position of National Baseball Commissioner he will continue with the work he has carried out since the first day he held the position, which has been to rebuild stadiums in different demarcations, as has happened, paint facilities, as well as distribute supplies sports and school in different leagues in the different neighborhoods of the capital and provinces of the country.
Noboa was the only person belonging to the Dominican State to be recognized.
