After the Jumanji: Next Level of 2019fans of the franchise initiated with Robin Williams are now looking forward to the modern suite with Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black. Carried by very good reviews (76 and 71% positive reviews on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes) and a very efficient box office (1.762 billion stored for two films)a third film under the direction of Jake Kasdan with the return of the original cast should naturally take shape. This is all the more certain when we see the choice made for the climax of the film, which should bring together the characters and creatures of Jumanji in the real world.
The film has long been suggested to be in pre-production. The director was not necessarily able to give a lot of information on this more than expected sequel. On the red carpet of Oscars, Kevin Hart shared some info on the sequel, at the microphone of a journalist from variety :
We’ll have to do that soon. I talked to [Dwayne Johnson] the day before yesterday. Right now, we’ve been throwing big ideas.
Given the fact that production has (certainly) not yet started, do not expect to see the feature film before 2024 even 2025.
