Actor Julián Gil was recently unmasked as “Tony Manguera” on the popular competition show ‘Quién es la Máscara.’ His reveal led to an emotional reunion with investigator Ana Brenda Contreras.
Gil expressed his excitement, stating he was eager to meet his “niece,” Aria, Contreras’s six-month-old daughter. Contreras successfully identified Gil, despite admitting to some initial confusion.
The two celebrities share a deep friendship spanning over 20 years. Contreras affirmed their bond on stage, saying, “This man taught me that true friends exist in this industry.” She then embraced him.
Gil, 55, expressed gratitude for the invitation, noting he had hoped to join the show since its first season. He deliberately avoided Contreras to keep his identity a secret, believing she would instantly recognize him.
Their shared professional history includes costarring in the 2012 telenovela ‘La que no podía amar.’

In the same episode, presenter Odalys Ramírez was also eliminated, revealing herself as “Sonny Hámster.” Guest actress Michelle Rodríguez was the sole investigator to correctly guess Ramírez’s identity.
Ramírez shared her joy at performing, saying it was “like reliving a part that I had saved just to sing lullabies to my children and for bohemian nights with my husband.”
Several other celebrities have been unmasked this season. These include Adamari López as “Shiba Moon” and Marlene Favela as “Bebeeeee.”
Comedians Freddy and Germán Ortega were revealed as “Sonaja, Chupón y Bebé,” while Jesús Ochoa was “Monsquezze.” Cynthia Klitbo performed as “Ruby Gloss,” and Maribel Guardia was “Mini Chang.”
Julián Gil as “Tony Manguera” and Odalys Ramírez as “Sonny Hámster” are the latest additions to this list.

The competition continues with characters like Hieny Fer, Capibara, Carroñero, and Maestro Bops. Also still performing are María Ovina, Nocturna, Federico García, Metaliebre, Samurai, and Tropicoco.
The panel of investigators features Juanpa Zurita, Carlos Rivera, and Ana Brenda Contreras. Contreras joined the team, replacing Martha Higareda due to her pregnancy. Anahí Puente has been confirmed for a new season.
Fans can catch the next episode of ‘Quién es la Máscara’ on Sunday, November 16. It will air at 8:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM C on Canal de Las Estrellas in Mexico.
