Juan Otero Signs With Sports Team for Three-Year Contract: A Major League Deal

Colombian Striker Juan Otero Signs with Real Sporting de Gijón for Three Seasons

Real Sporting de Gijón has officially announced the signing of Colombian striker Juan Otero, securing his services for the next three seasons until 2027. The transfer comes after new coach Rubén Albés identified Otero as a key player in his scheme for next season.

Otero, who previously played for Sporting for two seasons before being loaned out, is well-versed in the Spanish league, boasting an impressive goal-scoring record of 85 goals, along with 16 additional goals in the Copa del Rey.

This signing marks Sporting’s fourth for next season, following the recruitment of defender Eric Curbelo and midfielders Lander Olaetxea and Jesús Bernal, all of whom are already training under Albés.

Additionally, the club has a deal in place with Ecuadorian international striker Jordy Caicedo, who is expected to join the team soon after his Copa América duties. Caicedo will fill the void left by Uros Djurdjevic, who has been training with the team but is set to leave for Atlas club in Mexico, another Orlegi Group-affiliated team.

The red-and-white squad completed its second day of preseason training under Albés’ orders this Friday, with a focus on ball work, and will continue with a double training session behind closed doors tomorrow.
