Few soccer players born in Panama have landed in Spanish soccer, and cases like those of Rommel Fernández and Dely Valdés are the most famous, but… do you remember Joyce Renato Moreno during her time at Real Madrid?
His story is peculiar within professionalism in soccer. Joyce Renato was born in Panama on September 29, 1974, however, her entire sports career was carried out in Spain. He played as a defender and was characterized by his 1.82 meter height.
He could never be in the first team of the ‘Merengue’ team, but from 1993 to 1997 he defended the colors of Real Madrid Castilla. Precisely there he began his career as a professional and some time later he would obtain his Spanish nationalization.
The defender spent his entire career in Spain donning the colors of institutions such as: Leganés, Real Oviedo, Burgos, Alcalá, Badajoz and Granada, to name a few. His retirement year was in 2008 with the Sant Andreu team. Eleven years of professionalism in which, among the highlights, was his inclusion in Real Madrid B.

Something that could never materialize was his participation with the Panamanian National Team, since from lower categories he had calls to play with Spain and this was the case with the representative U-17s and U-18s.
This is how the story of Joyce Moreno was born, the Panamanian who will be able to tell other generations that he once passed through the ranks of Real Madrid in Spain. He is currently 48 years old, but two decades ago he began his dream with Madrid. A dream that lasted five years with the award-winning white team. Today his life remains linked to the ball, as a representative of soccer players and, once again, linked to Real Madrid, since his star client is Álvaro Rodríguez, who has a guaranteed place in the white first team next season.
