Joshua Zirkzee, the striker Mikel Arteta wants for Arsenal

According to Italian media reports, Arsenal are the most active suitors for Joshua Zirkzee in the Premier League. The Dutch striker, who is enjoying a productive season in Serie A with Bologna, has caught the attention of several European clubs thanks to his impressive eight goals and four assists under Thiago Motta.

Despite a brief goal drought, rumors continue to circulate about Zirkzee’s future. With clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United interested in his services, the 22-year-old is likely to look for a move in the upcoming summer transfer window, especially given that Bayern Munich have shown no intention of bringing him back at a reduced price.

As Calciomercato reports, Arsenal are leading the race for Zirkzee in the Premier League. However, they will face stiff competition for his signing with teams such as Napoli and AC Milan also “testing the waters” in Serie A. Both Italian clubs are looking for reinforcements on the attacking front, which could complicate negotiations for the Gunners.

Zirkzee is estimated to be worth between €45m and €50m, although there are conflicting reports about his release clause. While Bologna claim there is a €40m release clause that only applies to Bayern, Bayern are believed to have a buy-back option at a significantly lower price. This could affect negotiations and the final price that clubs interested in the Dutch striker will pay.

Zirkzee is definitely one of the players to keep an eye on in the next transfer market as his talent and potential make him a sought-after target for several European teams.
