The Royal Spanish Handball Federation has reached an agreement with José Ignacio Prades to take over the bench of the Spanish Women’s Handball Team, since the agreement has been approved by the directors of the federative entity. José Ignacio Prades, to date second to Carlos Viver in command of the Guerreras, and coach of Mecalia Atlético Guardés, faces the challenge of creating a stimulus for the group, aware of the ambitious project that he presents in the short and medium term, with the World Cup 2021 on the horizon.
He is backed by a long career on the bench, with 29 years of experience, 9 of them in the highest category of Spanish women’s handball, the Iberdrola Guerreras League, training entities such as the Elche Handball Club, the Elda Female Handball and the Athletic Guardés Handball Club, which he currently directs and with which he won the league title in 2017. In addition, in an international key, such as Carlos Viver’s right hand in recent years, collaborating in the conquest of the silver medal in the 2019 World Championship and in the 2021 Goal project of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation, which has served to incorporate young talents into the orbit of the #Guerreras.
