José Antonio Kast: worse than Augusto Pinochet

The narrow victory of Jose Antonio Kast (Photo) in the first round of the presidential election (barely 150,000 votes difference with Gabriel boric over 7 million) places Chile on the verge of a sinister outcome. Behind this operetta Führer, proud of his Nazi ancestors and a confessed admirer of a tyrant – and also a thief – as Augusto PinochetToday the decomposing remains of the traditional Chilean right are grouped in droves. His perfidious personeros, nested in various parties, who at first despised him and made fun of his ridiculousness now exalt him as the messiah destined to save Chile from the clutches of the vandals of the left, or from the aliens that the president’s wife Sebastian Piñera He believed he saw in the great days of October 2019.

Kast, like Jair bolsonaro, Donald trump and Santiago Abascal (the leader of Vox, fiery nostalgic for the good old days of Francisco Franco and the Holy inquisition in Spain) are the outgrowths that capitalist society secretes once its irreversible decline has begun. Good manners and hypocritical invocations to democracy and human rights give way to the vomits of these grotesque that accelerate humanity’s march towards its destruction. From beyond the Andes came the exultant greeting of Javier Milei, another demagogue of the same lineage, who in a tweet sent his “congratulations for managing to translate into votes an overcoming proposal for Chile and that at the same time distances it from impoverishing socialism. LONG LIVE FREEDOM FUCK. ” In full tune with the Argentine’s stupidity, Kast responded by saying “Thank you very much dear Javier. Long live freedom in Chile and Argentina damn it! “

Beyond these manifestations, what matters is what this subject and the reactionary crowd that surrounds and raises him (and that celebrated his triumph on Monday with a significant rise in the Santiago Stock Exchange) is the concrete project that is proposed impose in case of being elected president of Chile. Kast’s “Government Program” is set out in an extensive 204-page document entitled “Dare Chile” and which opens with a “Republican Manifesto” in which the evils that afflict that country are exposed: “the progressive punishment of property; the promotion of an intervening state; the identification of irreducible enemies such as private enterprise and the market system; violent protest and vandalism as justification for the transgression of norms and disrespect for authority; resurgence of a fallacious neo-Marxist discourse of the struggle of the sexes, races, sexual orientations, corrupt views of human rights, the interpretation of science (and the) harassment of the Christian faith. ” (pg. 3) Following is an extensive enumeration of the 829 (Sic!) corrective measures required to remedy such an excruciating situation. It is not the case to reproduce them here, but I invite my readers to make an effort and dare to rummage through that smelly dump of reactionary proposals to accurately characterize what awaits Chile if this Führer of seedy canteens arrives at La Moneda .

As shown, some buttons:

# 72 “strengthen Chile’s ties with the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Germany, as head of the European Union, as strategic political partners. We also promote closer ties with countries in the Asia Pacific, due to their growing economic importance.Of course, for Kast and his wise advisers China does not exist.

# 74 “an important aspect of security is prevent national political actors from seeking transnational alliances in order to increase their chances of coming to power in Chile, and even do it irreversibly. A serious danger is the historical tendency of subversive regimes such as Cuba and Venezuela to support by illegal and hidden means groups and political parties of the Chilean extreme left, in the face of which our elected governments have shown extreme weakness and tolerance. ” The old theory that says that conflicts and social struggles come to idyllic Chile from abroad; before from the Soviet Union, today from Cuba and Venezuela.

And then another nonsense typical of a caveman that I, as a proud graduate of FLACSO, cannot fail to mention. Recommendation number 77 of its program warns that “a special case deserves the situation of the FLACSO, an entity of alleged academic character, which for decades has led to political activism and the labor refuge of former national and foreign politicians. This entity will be notified of the end of its operations in our country. The truth is that it had been years since I had encountered such ignorant and primitive people as the editors of this obscene, incapable of appreciating the international academic credentials of FLACSO. The program continues to affirm in its number 82 that “We will withdraw Chile from the UN Human Rights Council”, something that was already present in number 30 where the “Closure of the current National Institute of Human Rights was announced and its replacement by a transversal institution dedicated to the effective defense of the human rights of all citizens. ” The next section, 31, promises “more prisons for Chile and more protection and benefit to Gendarmes…. The Guarantee is over ”.

The culmination of this fascist and grotesque project is a re-edition of the grim Plan Cóndor, which in the times of Pinochet, Videla and company blinded the lives of thousands of Latin Americans and condemned many others to exile. The # 33 declares, without ambiguity, that it will advance in the “International Anti-Radical Left Coordination. (Sic!) What is happening in Colombia is no coincidence. The model of the antisocial outbreak in Chile is repeated. We will coordinate with other Latin American governments to identify, arrest and prosecute radicalized agitators. ” Pinochet executed the Condor Plan, but he never confessed its existence. Kast, on the other hand, announces it with his chest inflated with arrogance and looking for Washington’s accomplice wink.

In short: a program based on the Franco regime’s war cry: “Long live Death!” and combined with an ultra-neoliberal economic program. In short: this madman has achieved what until now seemed impossible: that a more reactionary, despotic and violent politician appeared in Chile than Pinochet. Kast did. Hopefully the electorate wakes up on time and prevents this monster from becoming president and sinking the land of Salvador Allende, Victor Jara, Pablo Neruda, Gladys Marín, Violeta Parra and many others and others into barbarism.
