An eighth place in the qualifying race is the result you have achieved George Prado On his return to competition at the MXGP of Sardinia. The man from Lugo, out due to injury in Maggoria, started well, with the ‘Holeshot’ and had an intense fight in the early stages with Kalvin Vlaanderen, finally winner on Saturday in Riola Sardo.
The fight from behind was more typical of a sleeve that distributes points, with Coldenhoff, Jonass Renaux, and Bogers hunting the GasGas from Spanish, to which the Sling of the World Cup leader, that of Tim Gajser. In that group and in the last moments of the classification, Prado went down, along with Max Renaux, which made the Frenchman finish sixth and the Galician eighth. In between, Evans slipped in. The victory was relatively comfortable for Vlaanderen, escorted on the podium by Gajser, without taking excessive risks, and Coldenhoff. Bogers and Jonass completed the top-5 of the standings.
Despite the result, something far from what Prado is used to, the sensations left by the player from Lugo on his return are not bad. He was the fastest at the start, he led a number of laps and slammed into the leading pack. Only the fall deprived him of being ahead. Rubén Fernández, meanwhile, finished in ninth place, just behind his countryman.
