Ryan Mountcastle homered twice, and Austin Hays hit one, plus saved a run with his arm, as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Minnesota Twins 5-3 on Thursday.

Hays hit a tiebreaking homer with one out in the eighth off Jhoan Duran (0-1). Mountcastle followed with a solo clubbing.

In the second inning, Mountcastle had homered. Cedric Mullins and Jorge Mateo also hit homers for Baltimore.

Hays also retired Max Kepler with his throw to the plate in the fourth inning.

Byron Buxton homered for Minnesota, which was without manager Rocco Baldelli, second baseman Luis Arráez and pitcher Dylan Bundy. All tested positive for COVID-19 before the match.

Jorge Lopez (3-1) got the last four outs for Baltimore to win.
