Pecco Bagnaia Takes the Win in German MotoGP, Martin Crashes
Jorge Martin had the win in his grasp, but a crash on the final lap handed the lead to Pecco Bagnaia, who now holds a 10-point advantage over Martin. Marc Marquez mounted an incredible comeback to finish second, 56 points behind Jorge.
Race Conditions
The temperature was lower on Saturday, with 20 degrees in the air and 30 degrees on the asphalt, accompanied by sun and clouds and some wind. Aleix Espargaró was absent due to a right-hand injury, and Bradl rode as a guest. All riders used the same tyres: hard at the front and medium at the rear.
Early Action
At the start, Martin held his own against Oliveira’s challenge, but Bagnaia was lurking in third. Marc Marquez moved up to ninth place. Pecco was quick to attack and overtook the Portuguese and Pramac rider.
Mid-Race Drama
Many feared that Bagnaia would make a break, but Martinator reacted and surpassed the Turin native. However, Morbidelli overtook Pecco in the first corner, sending shockwaves through the field.
Comeback of the Century
Marc Marquez was on an unbridled comeback, passing Bastianini and Oliveira, and then surpassing Morbidelli. He continued to gain ground, passing Alex Rins and then his brother, Pol.
The Final Lap
Martinator fell at Turn 1, handing the lead to Bagnaia. Marc Marquez came through like a rocket, passing Alex Rins and then Morbidelli. The Gresini brothers, Alex and Pol, finished on the podium.
