“No coach is prepared to be here. You just go through it. They are challenges every day and I really enjoy it. One thinks, makes decisions, is with the group. I feel prepared and I’m in the best moment of my life”, said the Boca coachJorge Almiron after the 1-0 victory against Huracán. The squad had a rest after Monday’s victory at La Bombonera and this Wednesday they will start preparing to face Gymnastics on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Bosque de la Plata.
“I’m really happy to be here. Even in bad times. They are challenges for me and for the players. There are guys who are debuting and they are doing very well. When one stumbles or is not so consistent, it is a challenge for everyone. Along the way, you have to straighten out and move forward,” said Almirón, who will try to recover several injured players such as Luis Advincula, Marcos Rojo and luca langoni to have them available when at the beginning of August Boca faces Nacional de Montevideo for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores.
In this sense, the coach stressed that Boca is becoming “very strong local” and he also assured that the support of the fans has a lot to do with the players: “There are many moments where people explode and I don’t know how to describe it. The player and we fill us with energy. It is important that the team knows how to play here and that they don’t score goals, and that we have that feeling of winning. The rivals also feel it” indicated Almirón.
