Jordi Ribera insinuates that Denmark let themselves win

The men’s national handball coach, Jordi Ribera, was clear when talking about his match against Denmark, a team that lost its last match against France to play against Spain. “It seems that Denmark choose us to play the semi-finals, they will see us as a more comfortable team”, pointed out the coach at the TVE microphones.

“I think so, that they preferred to play against us. You always choose the one you can. Things aside, the team has met its objectives,” said Ribera, who also hopes to “break the inertia of the last two semi-finals and play on our side.”

Later, Ribera again pointed out his idea that Denmark had forced the pairing. “It seems that Denmark likes to play against Spain, but every game is different. Both in Tokyo and in the World Cup in Egypt, the matches were hotly contested. The circumstances are different,” he told the media.

Of course, the Spanish coach recognized that, to get into another continental final and be able to fight for a third consecutive gold, they will need to improve on both sides of the track. “Obviously we have to play a very good game in defense and attack if we really want to beat Denmark.”, he pointed.
