Jordan Poole sets personal best

Jordan Poole scored 30 points and had a career-high nine assists, and the depleted Golden State Warriors scored the first 19 points of the second half to beat a frustrated Miami Heat 118-104 on Wednesday night.

During a time out, tempers flared on the Miami bench. Jimmy Butler and Udonis Haslem exchanged words and their teammates had to intervene to separate them. Coach Erik Spoelstra also appeared to exchange views with Butler.

The Warriors previously ruled out Stephen Curry with a left foot injury and Andre Iguodala with lower back pain. Also, Draymond Green, Otto Porter Jr. and Klay Thompson had the night off to avoid being overworked.

Golden State began the third quarter with a 19-0 run in which Jordan Poole hit three long 3-pointers, two of them off the Heat bench to make matters worse.

Miami was without Tyler Herro, who had the night off with a sprained left knee, or Gabe Vincent, who has a sore toe.

Damion Lee, Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins each had 22 points for the Warriors. Gary Payton had 11 points and Kevon Looney had 16 rebounds.

Kyle Lowry had 26 points, Bam Adebayo had 25, Jimmy Butler had 20 and Duncan Robinson had 13 for the Heat. Miami overcame that huge Warriors scoring streak, a notable altercation on its own bench during a break, to take a brief fourth-quarter lead.
