Jordan Pacheco será el coach de bateo del Licey

The Tigres del Licey announced the hiring of Jordan Pacheco as their hitting coach for the upcoming 2022-23 Dominican winter baseball season dedicated to Tomás Troncoso In memoriam. “Jordan knows winter baseball, has experience as a player in the Major Leagues and brings a very positive vibe and energy to the team,” Tigers General Manager Audo Vicente said in making the announcement. Pacheco is currently serving as the hitting coach for the Albuquerque Isotopes, a triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies organization. “One of the things that stands out the most about him is his ability to communicate with the players regardless of their level,” added Vicente. He stressed that he could be a major leaguer or a recently promoted player and Pacheco’s message could impact both. A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was born on January 30, 1986 (age 36), he saw action in the Major Leagues between 2011 and 2016 with the Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds. He had a career batting percentage of .272 with 10 homers and 114 RBIs while defending infield and catcher positions. In Lidom he saw action with the Toros del Este (2013-14, .274-1-6 in 20 games), Leones del Esgido (2014-15, .295-1-11 in 25 games) and Gigantes del Cibao ( 2019-20, .178-0-6 in 15 challenges). He also had experience in the Atlantic League (Independent) as well as the Mexican Summer League.
