Johnson visits kyiv to show UK support for Ukraine

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson traveled to kyiv on Wednesday, in a visit that had not been announced in advanceto show the support of the Government of the United Kingdom to the Ukrainians, who celebrate today the anniversary of their independence.

"What happens in Ukraine affects us all. That is why I am in kyiv today. That is why the UK will continue to stand by our Ukrainian friends."Johnson said on Twitter, where he posted a photo of himself with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

British Prime Minister is going through the last days of his mandatebefore the winner of the Conservative Party primary succeeds him in Downing Street in early September.
