Singer-songwriter John Mayer and social media personality Kat Stickler are reportedly dating, enjoying each other’s company after an initial online connection. Sources indicate Mayer actively pursued Stickler.
"John sought her out and pursued her," an insider told Us Weekly. Stickler, who recently ended a months-long relationship, was open to dating again and found Mayer intriguing.
Their romance is described as "very new," but the pair has already been on several dates. Mayer has reportedly been "actively pursuing her, inviting her to places and texting her often." Stickler is "interested and seeing what happens."
Despite the active pursuit, Stickler, 30, "doesn’t think this will be a serious relationship," though she "is having fun." Mayer is 47 years old.
The two were first publicly spotted dining together at Fly Fish in New York City. A photograph of the outing was shared by DeuxMoi on Sunday, October 12.
Us Weekly reached out to representatives for both Mayer and Stickler for comment.
This reported pairing comes months after Stickler hinted at a new mystery man following her split from "Bachelor Nation" personality Jason Tartick late last year. Stickler, who shares her daughter MK with ex-husband Mike Stickler, and Tartick, 36, dated for less than a year.
Tartick publicly announced their separation on his Instagram story, stating, "It’s fair to say that I love with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life that works, and other times it doesn’t. This time it didn’t." He expressed gratitude for the happiness and light Stickler brought into his life, noting the chapter ended "on good terms."
Stickler also addressed the breakup in a video, commenting that their relationship "wasn’t wasted love." Tartick later described the split as "so abrupt" and "so unexpected" during a January episode of his "Trading Secrets" podcast, recounting a "really tough month" filled with public speculation.
Mayer has a history of high-profile relationships with celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. While he has never married, Mayer shared in 2024 that it is a personal desire.
"People don’t think I want to get married. I want to get married, absolutely," Mayer told Kelly Rizzo in a People clip from his "Comfort Food" podcast. He elaborated that his romantic fantasy involves a wife trusting him completely. "If my husband were here, he’d know what to do. Call John. Call my husband."
