Jofra Archer will play in the South African T20 league and joins MI Cape Town

England pacer Jofra Archer will play in the South African T20 league. On Wednesday, MI Cape Town announced the inclusion of Jofra in their squad. The inaugural edition of the South African T20 League will be played in January next year. Jofra Archer has been away from international cricket for a long time due to an elbow injury. Aside from an elbow injury, he had a broken lower back. He played the last international match in March 2021. He returned to the field on Wednesday. During this, Jofra played a match against the England main team on behalf of the England Lions in Abu Dhabi.

Jofra Archer was released by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL mega auction last year. Because he was unavailable for IPL 2022 due to injury. Knowing of Jofra’s unavailability, the Mumbai Indians bought him for 8 crores. Not just this, Mumbai has also retained Jofra this year. In the upcoming IPL season, he will be seen playing for the Mumbai Indians. Jofra will participate in the T20 league to be played in South Africa from MI Cape Town before playing in the 2023 Indian Premier League. The IPL team Mumbai Indians and MI Cape Town, which participate in the South African T20 league, are owned by the same group.

England fast bowler Joffra Archer played his team’s last game on March 20, 2021. At the same time, since September 16, 2020, he has not been able to play ODIs for the England team. Whereas, in February 2021, he last played a test match for England. The main reason for Jofra not playing international cricket has been his injury. But now he has recovered from the injury. In the coming times, Jofra will be seen playing franchise cricket for different teams including England.
