The American President, Joe Bidendescribed his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin by “HDP loco” at a public fundraiser on Wednesday in California.
“We have a crazy HDP like this Putin and others, and we always have to worry about a nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is the climate,” Biden said in a short speech at the event in San Francisco, which was attended by a small participant participated group of journalists.
In English, Biden used the three letters “SOB,” an abbreviation for “son of a bitch,” an insult that translates to “son of a bitch” in Spanish.
Biden’s outburst of harsh language follows other occasions where he called the Russian president, who ordered the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, a “butcher” and a “war criminal.”
Biden has said the United States will announce a package of tough new sanctions against Russia on Friday over the prison death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
In a gaffe while at an open mic in January 2022, Biden called a Fox News journalist a “son of a bitch.”
The Kremlin spokesman described the US president’s comments as an “immense shame.”
“It is an immense shame for (…) the United States. If the president of this country uses this lexicon, it is inevitably shameful,” Dmitry Peskov said in a video broadcast by a Russian public television journalist on Thursday.
“These rude statements cannot harm the leader of another state, let alone President Putin,” he said.
“It is clear that Biden is exhibiting Hollywood cowboy-style behavior in the interest of national political interests,” Peskov added.
