Washington: Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin have threatened each other on the phone.
The United States and Russia have warned each other about the Ukraine crisis, with US President Joe Biden warning his Russian counterpart that any attack on Ukraine would provoke a backlash.
President Vladimir Putin told the US president that any sanctions against Moscow would be a serious mistake.
According to world media, US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a 50-minute telephone conversation on Thursday over tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
US Press Secretary Jane Sackie said President Biden had made it clear to his Russian counterpart that the United States and its allies and partners would respond decisively to Moscow if Russia invaded Ukraine.
Putin, however, warned his US counterpart that new sanctions on Ukraine could lead to a “complete breakdown” in relations.
