Preparation and Expectations
Jessica Bouzas has been working hard during the preseason, spending four weeks at the Chamartín Tennis Club facilities and the Madrid federation. She has changed her physical trainer and returned to Jaume Ros, with whom she worked from the ages of 13 to 20.
Bouzas has focused on improving her technical aspects with Rober Ortega, although she hasn’t made any radical changes. She has also emphasized the importance of being calm and positive, as there is already enough tension and pressure throughout the year.
On a physical level, Bouzas has tried to improve her speed on the track. She believes that this will help her to be more competitive in her upcoming matches.
Objectives and Rankings
Bouzas is currently ranked number 54 in the WTA and is looking to set more ambitious objectives for herself. She believes that she has more experience now and is no longer new to the scene, but her rivals also know her better.
She is aware that making the calendar she wants can change her life a lot, as she will have more facilities, better places, and higher-level rivals. Bouzas is looking to take advantage of this opportunity and make the most of her time on the court.
Representing Spain
Bouzas is proud to be the second Spanish tennis player by ranking, behind Paula Badosa. She believes that it is a privilege to be number two in a country with a high level of players.
She is also looking forward to representing Spain in the United Cup, where she will be able to play alongside other top players. Bouzas is excited to be a part of this tournament and is looking to enjoy the experience.
Tattoos and Personal Life
Bouzas has a tattoo of the center court coordinates of the All England Club, which she got after her successful match at Wimbledon. She is planning to get more tattoos in the future, but only for important and personal reasons.
She has also talked about the sacrifices she has made for her sport, including not being able to spend Christmas with her family. Bouzas believes that tennis is her life, and she is willing to make sacrifices in order to succeed.
Mixed Doubles and Partnerships
Bouzas has played mixed doubles before, but not many times. She is looking to play more doubles in the future, as she believes it will help her improve her game.
She has already found a partner for the upcoming tournament in Australia, Yvonne Cavallé. Bouzas is excited to play alongside Cavallé and is looking forward to the experience.
Coaching and Team Changes
Bouzas is sorry to see Anabel Medina leave her position as coach, as she had always wanted to be part of Medina’s team. However, she is looking forward to working with the new captain and is confident that they will be successful.
Bouzas believes that she will continue to have a relationship with Medina and is grateful for the experience she gained while working with her.
