Jerry O’Connell demonstrated extreme dedication as a Los Angeles Dodgers fan during a marathon World Series game. The 51-year-old actor stayed for the entirety of Game 3 between the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The game, held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Dodger Stadium, stretched for 18 innings. O’Connell documented his experience through social media updates, sharing the unfolding drama with his followers.
He was joined by friends, including some rooting for the opposing team. The contest was intense, with both sides repeatedly tying the score.
By the bottom of the ninth inning, with the score tied 5-5, O’Connell remained optimistic for a Dodgers victory. He posted a video singing "Seven Nation Army," captioning it, "Hahaha, bottom of the ninth!"
As the game wore on with no resolution, O’Connell’s initial excitement gave way to fatigue. He shared a selfie from the stadium, noting, "This has got to end at some point."
Despite many fans leaving, O’Connell remained steadfast in his seat. He provided another update during the 14th inning, emphatically stating, "I’m not f***ing leaving!" while showing the view from his seats.
A fan commented, surprised he was still present after 10 p.m. West Coast time. O’Connell responded candidly, "Brother. I’ve been here since 4 and I have to take a sh**."
As the game progressed into the 15th inning, O’Connell joked about the stadium itself feeling the strain. He posted a photo of the Dodger Stadium Jumbotron, partially dark, with the caption, "Bottom of 15, the Jumbotron gave up."
Entering the 17th inning, O’Connell proudly declared he was still there. He boasted about outlasting other celebrity attendees, exclaiming, "I’m going to outlast [Jason] Bateman! I’m going to outlast Bateman! Let’s go!"
O’Connell’s patience was finally rewarded when Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning. The Dodgers secured a 6-5 victory.
Relieved, O’Connell captioned a video reacting to the final run, "I got the shot. I’m going home to feed my dogs."
The Monday night game lasted six hours and 39 minutes, tying the record for the longest World Series game by innings. The previous record was set in 2018 when the Dodgers also played 18 innings against the Boston Red Sox in Game 3. That contest lasted seven hours and 20 minutes, with the Dodgers winning 3-2.
