Jérôme Béglé’s editorial: “Election of David Lisnard at the head of the AMF: a failure for Emmanuel Macron”

In his editorial on Thursday, November 18, Jérôme Béglé, deputy editor-in-chief of Le Point, discusses the election of the mayor of Cannes David Lisnard, at the head of the Association of Mayors of France.

Resolute opponent to Emmanuel Macron, he is at 52 years old one of the pillars of the Republicans.

He largely beat his opponent UDI supported by Emmanuel Macron. This election confirms the incomprehension between the Elysee and local communities.

They feel misunderstood, despised, even mistreated by an executive power which has cut back their resources and paid little attention to their problems. This election constitutes a serious alert for the current head of state less than five months before the Presidential election.
