Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan has once again voiced her strong disapproval of paparazzi culture. She recently spoke out at a public event, questioning the professional conduct of photographers. Bachchan stated her discomfort with their presence at celebrity functions.
She drew a clear distinction between professional journalists, whom she holds in high regard, and the paparazzi. Her own father was a journalist, a fact she often highlights.
“I am a product of the media, but I have no connection with the paparazzi,” Bachchan said. She questioned their qualifications. “Who are these people? Are they trained to represent the people of this country? Do you call them media? I come from the media. My father was a journalist. I have a lot of respect for such people.”

Bachchan also criticized the appearance and behavior of some paparazzi. She commented on their casual attire and reliance on mobile phones for photography.
She conveyed her frustration that some individuals believe having a mobile phone grants them the right to photograph celebrities and comment freely. Bachchan questioned their education and backgrounds.
“What kind of people are these? Where do they come from, what kind of education do they have, what is their background?” she stated.
