Jaw almost broken… Fast bouncer sucks blood from Usman Khawaja's mouth, video goes viral

Usman Khawaja was injured in the first Test against West Indies. The Australian opener was injured during the fourth innings of the match and Australia's second innings when a sharp rebound from West Indies debutant Shamar hit Joseph Khawaja's helmet. Khawaja narrowly escaped breaking his jaw from this ball. Khawaja's mouth started bleeding after he was hit by the ball. After that, the Australian opener was painfully eliminated.

The video of Khawaja being hit by the ball was shared on social media via cricket.com.au. In the video, it can be seen that Khawaja tried to save himself from Shamar's quick rebound but he couldn't and the ball hit his helmet directly. Khawaja batted for 9 runs but after the ball was hit, he went back and Marnus Labuschagne came on the field to bat in his place.

Khwaja shared a photo of herself on social media. He gave his update while captioning the picture. Khawaja wrote: “Thank you for your best wishes. I'm doing well.”


The first match of the two-match Test series between Australia and the West Indies was played in Adelaide. Hosts Australia defeated West Indies in the game by 10 wickets.

In the match, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl. West Indies, who came to bat, collapsed for 188 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia scored 283/10 runs in their first innings. In the second innings, the Australian bowlers bowled out West Indies for 120 runs, after which Australia set a target of winning by just 26 runs. Chasing the target, Australia won in 6.4 overs without losing a wicket.
