Jasper Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah, star fast bowler of the Indian cricket team, returned to international cricket after about 327 days. His return was a bang and something special. He returned as the T20 captain, winning the series against Ireland under his captaincy. His individual performance was also impressive and he was also named Player of the Series for it. Bumrah, who recorded 74 wickets in 62 T20 internationals for India, won the T20 series award for the second time in his career. He became the second fast bowler, after Bhuvneshwar Kumar, to win this award more than once for India. At the same time, Virat Kohli holds the record for winning the most players in the series for India in this format.
Bumrah equals Rohit
Bumrah has drawn level with regular captain Rohit Sharma to win the Player of the Series award for the second time. Apart from these two, Yuzvendra Chahal, Akshar Patel and Hardik Pandya have also won this award twice at T20 International. While Virat Kohli has won this title seven times, Suryakumar Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have won it three or three times each. Speaking of Bumrah, he has been absent since September 2022 and has now returned to Team India. His return ahead of the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup is great news for Team India. If the return turns out like that then captain Rohit Sharma will definitely be very happy with it.
Bumrah’s appearance in the Ireland series
Jasprit Bumrah made a spectacular comeback to international cricket with the Ireland series. He took two wickets in the first over of his comeback. Especially his in-swinger, with whom he bowled Andrew Balbirnie clean in the first T20. After that, he began to perform in his old rhythm, the same frugal and dangerous bumrah. In the first T20 he took two wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. And in the second T20 he took 2 wickets in 4 overs with a maiden for 15 runs. The third game did not take place and Bumrah was the best player with 4 wickets and less than 5 economy in two games.
The focus is on Bumrah at the Asian Cup and the World Cup
At the 2022 T20 World Championship, when Team India lost in the semi-finals, Jasprit Bumrah was missed by everyone. Now he has returned ahead of the 2023 Asian Cup. He is also part of the Asia Cup squad. All eyes will now be on him in the high-tension game against Pakistan on September 2nd. Bumrah could prove to be Team India’s trump card at the Asian Cup and then at the World Cup. This will be Bumrah’s second ODI World Cup. In early 2019 he was part of the team. Bumrah also didn’t compete in the T20 Asia Cup last year.
