The Barça coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius, acknowledged that it was “important” win this Sunday against Baxi Manresa (93-72) to cut a streak of three consecutive losses and “calm down”. “In these situations, winning is the most important thing and the boys knew it. The season is ten months old, you have to know how to react and calm down. Today we have done it. Now it’s time to work and we have some rest to prepare for the Red Star”, summed up the Lithuanian coach.
From the press room at the Palau Blaugrana, Jasikevicius highlighted the “great game” by Tomas Satoransky (29 PIR points, the best of his career with Barça) who also highlighted his good start in last Friday’s defeat at the Fenerbahce Beko. “He has a streak of two very good games. We try to give the team more solidity and he is a player who can give us this as a base, it is very important. He can defend several positions, attack in different ways and has room for improvement.”, he assessed.
Likewise, Jasikevicius highlighted the good start of Barça this Sunday against Baxi Manresa: “We prepare for a 40-minute game. Against Manresa it is always better to start well to gain confidence and continue. The boys have kept up the rhythm and we have all played. It’s what we needed”.
Lastly, the Lithuanian coach relativized the impact of the streaks of results in the locker room: “The objective is always the next game and hopefully we will reach the big events wellbut you don’t have to look very far because situations change and you have to know how to react”.
