Jasiel Rivero has a broken calf

Valencia Basket is fulfilling the saying that ‘A skinny dog, they’re all fleas’ at the start of the season. If at the level of results, the team has not finished fueling (four losses in a row, the last two by a single point), what Mumbrú lacked right now is that his best player was injured. Jasiel Riverothe best in recent games (26 points and 5 rebounds against UCAM Murcia) suffers a calf tearas announced by the club, so it will have to stop for several weeks.

Rivero’s injury comes at a bad time because Mumbrú needs all his players to get out of the rut. More so when in the next five days he will play three games: Efes, on Tuesday; Fenerbahce, on Thursday; and Obradoiro, on Sunday, the first two in the Euroleague. In this way, the interior men of Valencia will have to multiply since the Cuban was being fundamental, both in defense and in Taronja attack.

The loss of Jasiel Rivero joins that of James Webb III announced by the club last weekend, so the team’s rotation remains at just 13 players since Millán Jiménez has already joined the group and has traveled to Istanbul. Martin Hermannsson, also seriously injured lives in the taronja infirmary.
