Jamie Lee Curtis Cheers Sydney Sweeney’s Sheer Gown

Jamie Lee Curtis offered a memorable reaction to Sydney Sweeney’s sheer outfit at the recent Variety Power of Women event.

The interaction occurred at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Wednesday, October 29. Curtis, 66, was seen approaching Sweeney, 29, and smiling broadly. She then gestured admiringly at Sweeney’s revealing Christian Cowan dress.

The two actresses shared a warm embrace and posed for photographs. Curtis was also observed whispering something to Sweeney, prompting a wide smile from the younger star.

Sweeney’s dress, a sheer silver mesh design, featured a round neckline and three-quarter sleeves. It included a fitted waist and a flowing pleated skirt.

The Euphoria actress complemented her bold look with dazzling diamond rings and elegant drop earrings. Her glam included luminous foundation, rosy cheeks, pink lips, and long lashes.

Fans online quickly praised Sweeney’s attire. Comments included "Body is TEA that dress is amazing!" and "She looks incredible in that dress." Another user exclaimed, "It’s the prettiest dress I’ve ever seen. She looks gorgeous."

The moment underscored ongoing conversations about body confidence. Sweeney has previously spoken about her relationship with her body image.

In October 2023, she told Glamour UK she felt self-conscious about her chest size in high school. She considered breast reduction surgery at age 18.

Her mother, Lisa Sweeney, persuaded her against the procedure. "My mom told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college’," Sydney recalled.

Sweeney expressed relief over her mother’s advice. "I’m so glad I didn’t," she stated. "I’m fond of them. They’re my best friends."

In an October 27 interview with Variety, Sweeney also addressed her "sex symbol" status. She explained she does not view herself in that way.

"I play a lot of very divisive characters," Sweeney noted. "I think a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t."

She added, "When people think, ‘Oh, she’s a sex symbol,’ or ‘She’s embracing that,’ I think, ‘No, I just feel good, I do it for myself, and I feel strong.’"

This theme of self-acceptance was echoed by Sharon Stone during the Variety event. Stone publicly lauded Sweeney’s confidence.

While presenting an award, Stone told Sweeney, "It’s okay to wear what mama gave you. It really is okay." She emphasized that it is acceptable to embrace one’s own unique attractiveness.

Stone continued, "Who are you not to be beautiful? You know, who you are is not an accident."

Jamie Lee Curtis maintained a classic and elegant look for the event. She wore a tailored black blazer with matching flared pants.

Curtis’s outfit was accessorized with a white blouse adorned with a large floral detail over the chest. She completed her ensemble with pointed patent leather shoes.

Her beauty choices included diffused brown eyeshadow, glossy lips, and silver-rimmed glasses. Her signature pixie cut was styled in a sleek side-part.
