Actor Jaideep Ahlawat is currently making headlines for his portrayal of a negative character in ‘The Family Man 3’, where he faces off against Manoj Bajpayee. His performance in the series is receiving significant praise. This is not the first time Ahlawat has taken on an antagonistic role.
However, a period in his career saw him struggling with unwanted typecasting. After his distinctive performance in the film ‘Commando’, Ahlawat began to receive an influx of unusual and repetitive offers.
He described this experience in an interview with News18. “There was a time when I had to reject many offers. This came after working in ‘Commando’,” Ahlawat stated. “I started getting offers for many weird negative characters.”
He added that the character he played in the film was “a bit strange and different.” Consequently, “everyone offered me strange negative roles. It was disturbing.”
Ahlawat explained his reluctance to accept these roles. “If you do something different, every other script that comes your way is similar,” he noted. “Why would I do such roles? I don’t want to play the same character repeatedly.”
The actor actively worked to diversify his portfolio and shift his image. He carefully selected roles in various films and shows to showcase his range.

This strategic approach eventually yielded positive results. “I can now say that I have connected with some filmmakers and production houses,” Ahlawat shared. “People have now started accepting me differently. My reach has also increased.”
He has since achieved success in both television and film, earning acclaim for his work. His notable projects include the series ‘Paatal Lok’, ‘The Broken News’, and ‘Bard of Blood’. Ahlawat has also delivered stellar performances in films such as ‘Raazi’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Maharaj’, ‘Jaane Jaan’, and ‘An Action Hero’.
