IND Vs ENG: India’s star cricketers Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and Akshar Patel have made their mark in the ICC Test rankings. Jadeja, Ashwin and Akshar were rewarded in the ICC Test rankings for their brilliant performances with the bat and ball in the series against England. Indian players have won three of the top four all-rounders. Ravindra Jadeja, who performs better with the bat than with the ball, remains the number 1 all-rounder in the ICC Test rankings. R. Ashwin, on the other hand, is ranked second in the all-rounder rankings. Apart from this, Akshar Patel is also not far behind and remains at number 4.
However, Ravindra Jadeja seems to be way ahead of the other players in the rankings of Test all-rounders. Ravindra Jadeja is at number one with 469 points. R Ashwin remains at the second position with 330 points. However, Shakib Al Hasan is not far behind Ashwin and is in third place with 320 points. Akshar Patel is at the fourth position in the rankings with 281 points. Ben Stokes has been suffering from the loss of not being able to bowl for about six months. Stokes has now slipped to fifth place in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings with 280 points.
Spinners dominate
It is astonishing that in the all-rounder rankings, the spinners seem to eclipse the fast bowlers. All the players present in the top four harass the batsmen with spin. Apart from Stokes, 5 of the top 6 players are spinners. England’s star player Joe Root is no longer able to perform miracles with the bat these days, but he has the advantage in the ICC Test rankings to take wickets of Indian batsmen. Joe Root has now moved up to sixth place in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings.
