A massive fire broke out at Jacksonville International Airport’s parking garage in Florida on Friday. The blaze forced the airport to shut down temporarily, halting all incoming and outgoing flights. The fire started when a car caught fire on one of the upper levels of the multi-story parking garage.
Airport Operations Disrupted
The airport’s operations were severely impacted, with all flights grounded until further notice. The fire department was called to the scene to combat the blaze, which had spread across multiple levels of the parking structure. Crews worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
The parking garage sustained significant damage, with parts of the second and third floors collapsing. Around 50 cars were affected by the fire. Emergency responders used drones to inspect the damage and assess the situation, as it was deemed too hazardous for personnel to enter the building.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is being investigated by the authorities. The airport resumed normal operations later that evening, after a four-hour closure.
