Jackie Shroff Supports 100 Poor Families, Donates Half His Earnings to Charity

Jackie Shroff’s life is a true rags-to-riches story. Born on February 1, 1957, in Mumbai’s Three Batti chawl.

A Childhood of Struggle

Jackie grew up in a small room with his family – tough conditions. The family of seven shared a tiny space with six other families, with just three bathrooms. Jackie dropped out of school after 11th grade due to financial struggles.

A Life of Hard Work

To make ends meet, Jackie tried various jobs – selling peanuts and working as a flight attendant. He even attempted to become a chef, but was turned down. It wasn’t until he was spotted at a bus stand that his luck changed. Subhash Ghai offered him a role in “Hero,” launching his acting career.

Giving Back

Now a Bollywood icon, Jackie hasn’t forgotten his humble beginnings. He runs an account at Nanavati Hospital to help the poor with medical expenses. He’s also been supporting around 100 underprivileged families in Mumbai for years.

Jackie donates half his earnings to those in need. His wife, Ayesha, revealed this on Simi Garewal’s chat show. Even when Jackie was struggling, he’d give to beggars.

A Helping Hand

In Mumbai’s streets, from Three Batti to Pali Hill, beggars and street children know Jackie’s number. They can call him anytime for help – food or financial aid. Jackie is always ready to lend a hand.

Jackie’s kindness knows no bounds. He’s a true inspiration, proving that with hard work and a generous heart, anyone can make a difference.
