Ivan Domingues competes in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza

The roar of engines fills the air at Monza. It’s the final stop of the FIA Formula 3 World Championship season. Nineteen-year-old Ivan Domingues, the only Portuguese driver in the series, is back on track this Friday. He’s hoping to cap off his rookie year with a memorable performance at the legendary Italian circuit.

Monza holds a special place in Domingues’ heart. He moved to Italy when he was just 14 years old. “This place is truly iconic, steeped in history with an amazing vibe,” he shared. “Coming back here to race feels really special for me. We’ve shown clear improvement all year long. We proved we can be quick and challenge for wins.” He’s ready to give it everything.

Looking back, Domingues has had a standout first season. His biggest moment came with a sprint race win at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. That victory showed everyone what the young driver is capable of. Now, he faces one of motor racing’s toughest grids again. Thirty drivers compete, and ten different winners have emerged from 18 races this season. It’s a true test of skill.

Domingues isn’t just chasing a result. He’s also focused on soaking up more experience. “The season flew by,” he noted, “but the goal is always to enjoy every second we get on track.” The weekend kicks off with free practice sessions and qualifying on Friday afternoon. Saturday brings the sprint race, followed by the main event on Sunday morning.
