Ivan Domingues Crashes Out of F3 Monza Sprint Race

Ivan Domingues

Ivan Domingues, the young Portuguese rookie, saw his Saturday race end too soon. He crashed out of the Formula 3 Italian Grand Prix sprint event at Monza. Domingues, only 19 years old and hailing from Leiria, had started strong. He lined up 13th on the grid. This was his second-best qualifying effort of the entire season.

Trouble hit early in the sprint race. As he braked for the very first corner, his car locked up. The single-seater then veered into the wall. The impact made it impossible for him to continue. He had to abandon the race.

“It was impossible to keep going after the crash,” Domingues said later. “This wasn’t the Saturday we hoped for.” He sounded disappointed but also forward-looking. “But we have Sunday’s race. It’s a chance to close out this season differently.” Formula 3 racing often brings incidents like this. “We know F3 is full of them,” he noted. “This race certainly showed that.” Despite the setback, his focus remains. “This Sunday, we’ll be back on the grid. We will fight for points.”

Fans can still catch the main Formula 3 Italian Grand Prix race. It takes place this Sunday. The green light is set for 7:15 AM.
