The brother of Andres Polleromurdered on May 31, 2020, told Underlined the feeling of family after knowledge failed which sentenced the murderer of the former referee to 27 years in prison for the crime of murder, particularly aggravated in true repetition with a crime of recording.
“It’s a relief for us, it helps us complete a phase. The feeling of justice that we have always had, we have always strived for justice to be done to this fact, on this side we are satisfied with this verdict, with the work that we have done.” “The prosecutor’s office has done that, too with the work of the police; it was a very long and very complex investigation,” said Bernardo Pollero.
Andrés Pollero was picking up his car, a Kia Pride Pop model, from his house on the corner of Pedro Boggiani and Ignacio Rivas when strangers approached him, shot him and took the car away.
The referee even shouted “No, no, no,” as witnesses heard and later felt the blast, prompting them to flee their homes and track down the neighbor who had fallen on the street and was injured by a gunshot.
Pollero died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was 42 years old, lived with his mother and, in addition to being a member of the AUF referee team, he also had a degree in communications and taught physical education courses at IPEP, the Professional Institute of Journalism Education.
The former referee’s brother said that three people were responsible for Andrés’ death, but one of them had not yet been identified. Bernardo said her mother died without having an answer to the question.
Bernardo recounted details of the oral trial that convicted his brother’s murderer, whom he remembered as a very kind man.
