Two spectators of a car rally died on Saturday in Italy after being struck by a crew’s car, Italian media reported.
The two victims, two men aged 21 and 35, were mown down by the Peugeot 208 of an Italian crew during the 41st Appenin-Reggiano rally in the town of Riverzana in Canossa, in Emilia-Romagna (north).
The vehicle exited the road at high speed on a straight portion of the course and struck spectators gathered on a small hill.
The injured were transported by helicopter to Bergamo hospital, but succumbed to their injuries.
