Sometimes a film hits you right in the heart. That’s exactly what happened when the Israeli movie ‘Here We Are’ played in Mumbai. Kobbi Shoshani, the Consul General of Israel to Midwest India, openly shared his powerful reaction. He was deeply moved, a rare and honest display of emotion from a diplomat.
The screening took place in Mumbai. It brought an older but still important film back into the spotlight. Director Nir Bergman first released ‘Here We Are’ way back in 2000. Its story clearly still resonates with audiences today.
Shoshani spoke with ANI, his voice full of feeling. “I had tears in my eyes when I saw some of the parts,” he admitted. He believes stories like this go beyond daily headlines. “It is important for us to go beyond war or politics and bring such a story of people out.” He explained his personal connection, saying, “As a father, it was very touching.” He shared his joy about the Mumbai screening. However, he also noted, “Sometimes we don’t have the capacity to help people in need.” His words highlight the film’s touching human message.
