Chunkz and Ishowspeed were the ones who stole the show at the ‘Match4hope’ event, a football match for solidarity that took place in Qatar today. And, let’s be real, it was quite the occasion – not just because of the content creators, but also because of the football legends who participated. I mean, we’re talking about the likes of Iniesta, Piero, and Thierry Henry, all of whom were part of the event. And if that wasn’t enough, there were also some big-name legends on the benches, like Mauricio Pochettino, the current American coach, and Arsène Wenger.
‘Terrible’ football game
As you can probably imagine, the football itself wasn’t exactly top-notch. I mean, while some of the creators and former soccer players held their own, others… well, let’s just say they’ve been away from the sport for a while. So, yeah, there were some pretty disastrous and fun moments with the ball. The team led by Pochettino, with Ishowspeed at the helm, was actually down 2-5 at one point, despite taking the lead twice – and even having a chance to score again, with their captain, of all people, almost making a goal. I mean, we all know football isn’t really Speed’s thing, but still.
But, somehow, they managed to turn things around and tie the game 5-5. And then, in the final moments of the match, Chunkz’s team pulled off a stunning comeback, with Chunkz himself scoring the winning goal to make it 6-5. Talk about a dramatic finish. Now, as for the total amount collected from the event, we’re still waiting to hear the exact figures. But, for reference, last year’s event raised around 9 million euros, all of which went towards Qatar’s “Education Above All” initiative, which supports projects in places like Lebanon, Nigeria, Palestine, Syria, and Pakistan.
