A lot of attention is being focused on various individuals during the Mahakumbh Mela 2025. One person who has been gaining significant attention on social media is Sadhvi Ishika Taneja. Ishika, a resident of Delhi who studied in London, has had a notable career. She was awarded the title of Miss World Tourism and also won the President Award. Additionally, she was crowned Miss India. However, she has now bid farewell to the world of glamour and opted for a spiritual path.
Ishika has started promoting the Sanatan way of life, having taken Guru Diksha from Shankaracharya Sadanand Saraswati of Dwarka-Sharada Peeth. She expressed that despite achieving fame, her life felt incomplete. Ishika emphasized the importance of finding happiness, peace, and making life meaningful. She believes that every daughter should come forward to protect and promote their religion.
In a recent conversation, Ishika Taneja stated, ‘I am not a sadhvi, I am proudly eternal, and I am associated with service. The Mahakumbh holds divine powers, and my greatest achievement is receiving Guru Diksha from Shankaracharya ji, which has given direction to my life.’ She reflected on her journey, mentioning her past achievements, including receiving the Guinness Book Award and working with notable figures in the entertainment industry. However, she emphasized that she has returned to her roots at the right time, believing that women are meant to serve and promote the Sanatan way of life.
When asked if her presence at the Mahakumbh was an attempt to increase her public profile or if she would return to the entertainment industry, Ishika replied that her spiritual journey began long ago. She mentioned her involvement with the Art of Living and interactions with various spiritual leaders. Ishika expressed that she is committed to her current path and has no intention of going back to her old life. Although she might consider producing films in the future, her focus would be on promoting the Sanatan way of life through such ventures.
Regarding the role of fashion in Sanatan, Ishika said, ‘The saffron color should be worn in a fashionable way to make it appealing and a matter of pride. If the youth can wear traditional attire in a beautiful and stylish manner, it will help propagate the Sanatan way of life.’ She emphasized that Sanatan should be both fashionable and powerful.
When questioned about her potential involvement in politics or reality TV shows like Bigg Boss, Ishika stated that she does not have political ambitions but believes that those who follow the Sanatan way of life should come forward and take part in politics. She also confirmed that she will not participate in Bigg Boss, having declined an invitation in the past.
