Isaac del Toro Wins in Italy, UAE Emirates Reaches Record 95 Season Victories

UAE Emirates secured its historic 95th victory of the 2025 cycling season on Wednesday, propelled by Mexican rider Isaac del Toro’s dominant win at the Giro del Veneto in Italy.

Del Toro’s triumph marked his 16th season victory and 19th career win. The 21-year-old’s individual success directly contributed to the team’s record-setting season tally.

He broke away from the peloton just over 10 kilometers from the finish line. Del Toro completed the 161.2-kilometer race, stretching from Vicenza to Verona, in 3 hours, 24 minutes, and 29 seconds.

His teammate, French rider Pavel Sivakov, finished 22 seconds behind him. Norwegian Jonas Abrahamsen of Uno-X secured third place, recording the same time as Sivakov.

Del Toro is now tied as the second-most victorious rider of the 2025 season. He shares this distinction with Frenchman Paul Magnier of Soudal Quick-Step, who won a stage at the Tour of Guangxi in China on the same day. Belgian Tim Merlier, also from Soudal Quick-Step, who won a stage at the Tour of Holland, also holds this record.

The overall leader for the 2025 season remains Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, also with UAE Emirates. Pogacar, the world and European champion and Tour de France winner, has amassed 20 victories.

UAE Emirates’ roster also includes Portuguese riders João Almeida, Rui Oliveira, and Ivo Oliveira. Another Portuguese rider for the team, António Morgado, did not finish the Giro del Veneto race.
