In an interview with the news agency EFE, alarcon declared that he accepted the defensive move in order to fulfill his dream of playing every Sunday in the NFL.

“Four years here make the nerve no longer there, I know the process and I enjoy what I am experiencing. My dream and main objective is that with this position change my country sees me play every Sunday and that I can contribute everything I have to the Cowboys this season.”, said the man born in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The Mexican he reached the NFL in 2020 via the International Pathway. Most of his career has been spent on the practice squad for the Texan team, but as the seasons have gone by he has found more minutes in the preseason.

In the 2022 preseason, Alarcón saw action in all three games and started the last one, against the Seattle Seahawks. Even in that commitment he was named as one of the team captains.

Alarcón played as an offensive lineman during his university days with the Tecnológico de Monterrey and now he must play a new position from scratch. “The most difficult thing has been raising my athletic level, I had to lose weight, be more explosive. Working in the gym with more weight, adapting to the new speed with which we play here. I have had to lose seven kilos. I was at 147 and now I’m at 140″, indicated Alarcón. “I must learn to use my hands better. As an offensive lineman you focus on your shoulders and hips never being out of balance, as a defensive lineman it’s the opposite because your shoulders should always go forward; I have to adapt to these movements, but my coaches have been very patient, they have helped me a lot”.
