Russia’s defense minister says US bombers had earlier this month conducted a nuclear attack on Russia from two different directions, about 20 kilometers from the Russian border.
According to the news agency Reuters, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the activities of US strategic bombers near the Russian border have increased and there have been 30 such incidents this month.
The Russian defense minister added that the United States had conducted a training demonstration on a nuclear attack against Russia in early November.
The Secretary of Defense said in a statement that during the US military exercises Global Thunder, 10 US strategic bombers exercised nuclear weapons against Russia from the west and east.
Sergei Shoigu said Russian air defense units chased US strategic bombers and took steps to avoid any untoward incidents. However, the Pentagon says the exercises were announced earlier and were carried out in accordance with international protocols.
