Tehran: Iran has warned the United States that “speaking in a threatening tone will have dire consequences.”
According to a report by a foreign news agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdullahian while talking to Iranian TV said that the Iranian parliament and the new government are seeking protection of Iranian rights in the talks and we expect them to be a party to the Vienna talks. Opponents will sit at the negotiating table with reason and logic in mind.
The Iranian foreign minister said in a meeting with EU High Representative Erica Mora on the sidelines of the swearing-in ceremony that US officials should speak politely instead of threatening the Iranian nation.
“We have made it clear to the top EU negotiator that speaking out against Iran in a threatening tone will not work,” he said.
“There is no point in talking in a bitter tone. Our government would welcome logical talks,” he said.
