Tensions between Iran and Israel have escalated.
Over 100 missiles were fired from Iran into Israel. The targets were in the northern part of the country. This happened after Israel said they had been attacking Iran for almost 40 hours straight.
Israel’s defense forces found out that missiles were coming from Iran. They worked to stop the threats. People were told to go to safe areas and stay there.
Israel’s air force attacked military targets in Tehran, the capital of Iran. At the same time, they were stopping missiles from hitting their country.
There were air raid sirens in the north of Israel. Explosions were heard in the cities of Haifa and Kiryat. It’s not clear if these were from missiles hitting targets or from Israel’s defense systems.
Iran’s TV reported that over 100 missiles were fired at Israel. This was the second wave of attacks in an operation called “True Promise 3”. The main targets were Haifa and Tel Aviv.
The emergency service in Israel, MDA, said they hadn’t gotten any reports of people being hurt or killed. But there were many reports of damage in the north and coastal areas. This included debris falling from buildings and fires in open areas.
Iran said Israel’s attacks killed 31 people in the East Azerbaijan province. Thirty of them were military personnel, and one was a Red Crescent member. Fifty-five people were also injured.
Iran’s TV reported that 60 people were killed when Israel attacked a building in Tehran. But Israel hasn’t confirmed this number of deaths.
