During the protests in Iran, 17 people died, the United States announced the ban on Iran’s moral police.
The US has announced sanctions against Iran’s Moral Police and seven top security officials over the alleged killing of Mahsa Amini and the use of force against peaceful protesters.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken said in a statement that Mahsa Amini’s death is tragic and brutal, which the US strongly condemns.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken said that the Iranian government should end atrocities on women and give them the right to peaceful protest. The US will continue to support human rights in Iran and hold those who violate them accountable.
Mehsa Amini, 22, was arrested in Tehran by Morality Police on September 13 for not wearing a proper headscarf. While in Morality Police custody, Mahsa Amini went into a coma from alleged torture and died in hospital three days later.
Riots broke out in Iran as soon as the news of Mahsa Amini’s death came and so far 17 people, including 3 security personnel, have been killed in violent protests.
Among the Iranian security officers who have been sanctioned by the US are Mohammad Rostami, the head of Morality Police of Tehran, Ahmad Mirzai, the head of Tehran’s Morality Police, Ismail Khatib, the Minister of Intelligence of Iran, Salar, the deputy commander of the Basij Force, which controls unarmed protesters. Abnoosh, Deputy Commander of the Law Enforcement Force Qasim Rezai, Commander of Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari Provinces of LEF Manouchhar Amanullah and Commander of Ground Forces of the Iranian Army Qumars Haidari are included.
It should be noted that Iran’s moral police work to ensure respect for Islamic morals and detain people who are dressed inappropriately. Under Iranian law, women are required to wear the hijab and wearing tight clothing is prohibited.
