Preparations for the Women’s IPL i.e. Women’s Premier League are nearing completion. The Women’s Premier League auction will be held in Mumbai on February 13. The first set in this auction includes the names of some of the world’s top female cricketers including the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner.

Being the players of the first set means that the name of the players of this set will come out first when bidding. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Tuesday that the Women’s Premier League (VPL) will take place in Mumbai from March 4-26, 2023.

Previously, 1,525 players had registered their names for the Women’s Premier League auction, in which 409 players are included in the final list. There are 246 Indian players in these while 163 foreign players are also included. The number of caped players is 202 and not capped at 199, while the names of 8 Associate Nations players are included in the auction.

Five teams have a maximum of 90 places available, of which 30 are for foreign players. 24 players have been listed for the highest base price of Rs 50 lakhs in this auction. At the same time, according to the report, the total bag value of all the teams is Rs 12 crore, but this has not been confirmed by BCCI yet.

Out of a total of 409 players included in the final auction list, Australia and England have the most players after the Indians. A total of 28 players from Australia and 27 from England are participating in this auction. Following this, 23 players from the West Indies, 19 from New Zealand, 17 from South Africa, 15 from Sri Lanka, 11 from Zimbabwe, 9 from Bangladesh, 6 from Ireland, 4 from the United Arab Emirates and 1 player from Hong-Kong , Holland. Thailand and the US are included in the list. Now it is necessary to see how many and which of these players have the opportunity to play first in the Women’s Premier League.
