The Royal Challengers Bangalore team, led by Virat Kohli, has finally shed the tag of not winning an IPL trophy. On June 3, RCB defeated the Punjab Kings in the final to claim their maiden title. During the celebrations, Kohli was curious to know what’s inside the IPL trophy. He even took it apart to find out, and the video of the moment is going viral on social media.
RCB batted first in the final, scoring 190 runs. Kohli top-scored with 43 runs off 35 balls, helping his team set a competitive target. He also broke a record, surpassing Shikhar Dhawan to become the batsman with the most fours in IPL history. The Punjab Kings fell short, scoring 184 runs, and RCB won the match by six runs.
The RCB players were ecstatic, taking photos with the trophy. A video of Kohli examining the trophy’s contents has become a hit on social media, with many fans and players sharing it. Even Phil Salt couldn’t help but laugh at Kohli’s antics.
The IPL trophy was designed by Orra, a jewelry company that has been creating the trophy since 2008. According to media reports, the trophy is worth around 30-50 lakh rupees and is made of gold, silver, aluminum, and other metals, with a gold polish finish.
Kohli had a great season, scoring 657 runs in 15 matches, including eight half-centuries. He was the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament, behind Sai Sudarshan of the Gujarat Titans, who won the Orange Cap, and Suryakumar Yadav, who was named the tournament’s best player. Despite not winning the Orange Cap, Kohli’s performance was instrumental in RCB’s success, and he finally got his hands on the IPL trophy.
